Today’s session of the Crisis Staff

The session of the Crisis Staff for the fight against coronavirus will be held today at 3 pm, and the epidemiological situation will be discussed at it, after the five-digit number of newly infected people has been recorded for several days.

Yesterday, a record 13,753 new cases of kovid 19 were reported, and since the beginning of the week, that number is around 13,000 newly infected daily.

Doctors warn that in the previous days, due to the spread of the omicron strain, the pressure on the ambulance was increased, which can be seen in the ever longer lines in front of them.

Microbiologist Milanko Shekler estimates that Serbia has not yet reached the peak when it comes to the number of newly infected, and he appeals for a solution to be found, because the diagnostic capacities are limited and overcrowded, as well as the ambulance.

According to the media, new epidemiological measures are not expected, although the medical part of the Crisis Staff will probably insist on 24-hour covid passes, shortening the working hours of stores and reducing the number of people allowed indoors, reports Tanjug.

The crisis headquarters should make a decision on the school holiday, and the media state that the holiday will probably not be extended and classes will continue on January 24. According to their information, it could be decided that children up to the fifth grade have combined classes, and other high school students online.
