Sonja Vasić and Nikola Jokić are the best in 2021 in the KSS selection

Sonja Vasić was named the best basketball player, and Nikola Jokić the best basketball player in Serbia in the past 2021, in the traditional selection of the Basketball Association of Serbia (KSS).

Today, KSS traditionally declared the most successful in the previous year according to the choice of journalists, and Vasić and Jokić received the most votes from the representatives of sports newsrooms.

The special award went to the men’s basketball team, winner of gold at the European Championships and Olympic bronze, and the second went to Serbian basketball players, European champions, reports Tanjug.

In the year behind us, Sonja Vasić ended her playing career, winning the title of European champion with the national team, choosing the ideal five of the European Championship tournament, MVP recognition and fourth place at the Olympic Games in Tokyo, and all that was enough to finish in front of the new captain. The center of Denver, in 2021, became the first Serb to be named the most useful basketball player in the NBA league, won the most votes from sports journalists, while Efes player Vaslija Micic, winner of the Evoliga and double MVP of the competition, finished in second place.

For Sonja Vasić, this was the third recognition for the best player, while Nikola Jokić was the best in the selection of the Basketball Association in 2018 as well.

The awards were presented to Sonja and Branislav, Nikola Jokić’s father, by the president of KSS, Predrag Danilović.
